PREMER HISTORY

When Shehu and Ruth Garba relocated from Lagos to Abuja in 1995, they were faced with the problem of finding a suitable school of international standards in Nigeria’s fast growing capital city for their four young children. Following a challenging search, they opened Premier International School (PIS) on September 7th, 1997.

Premier Footbal Academy

Club time: Saturday 9:00am - 11am

Premier Footbal Academy

We came 2nd position in Britannia Int'l Cup in 2019, and fair play award in 2018. We came 2nd position in New Balance Cup in 2017

Robotic Club

Class time: Friday 11:30am - 12:30pm

Robotics club provide the same opportunity for students to strengthen leadership skills, learn to cooperate with others, improve social interaction skills, better regulate emotions, and learn the highs and lows of competing to become great Innovators.

ICT Club

Class time: Friday 11:30am - 12:30pm

ICT teaches computer literacy, programming, coding, website and applications development and computer innovations.

Literacy Club

Class time: 9:00am - 10am

Public speaking is important because it helps our pupils to improve their knowledge. The preparation that goes into a speech and the fact that you have to work out how to communicate to others effectively makes you understand your content that much better.

Mad Science Club

Club time: Saturday 9:00am - 11am

Mad Science Club

We create diffrent innovative projects. Engaging young students with exciting projects and experiences motivates them to learn and pursue the sciences throughout school.

Red Cross Club

Class time: Friday 11:30am - 12:30pm

Red Cross Club provide the same opportunity for students to strengthen leadership skills, learn to administer first aid to others, improve social interaction skills, and teach safety.

Home Makers Club

Class time: Friday 11:30am - 12:30pm

Home Makers Club teaches home ethics, perseverance, cleaning, cooking, baking, decorations, and sewing.

Music Club

Class time: 9:00am - 10am

Musical training helps develop language and reasoning: Students who have early musical training will develop the areas of the brain related to language and reasoning. Students learn to improve their work.

Ballet Club

Class time: Friday 11:30am - 12:30pm

Ballet teaches work ethic, perseverance, dedication, motivation, stamina, flexibility, and strength. Dancers work hard in ballet but the results are worth it. Ballet helps dancers grow – it gives students what they need to spread their wings and fly in all dance classes.

Debating Club

Class time: 9:00am - 10am

Debate is a great device for engaging students and bringing life to the classroom. Using debates in the classroom can help students understand essential critical-thinking and presentation skills.

Cursive training for staff

Fascinating new research points out the benefits of cursive writing for cognitive development. It is based on this fact that Premier International School organized a one month intensive training for its teachers on cursive writing. Teachers are then required to teach this skill to their students.

Our aspiring prefects presented their manifesto to their fellow students on a well-attended general assembly which took place on 12th November, 2020 soliciting for their votes in an upcoming election on 14th of November, 2020.

21st Graduation and Prize Giving Day 2020

We are very proud of the excellent year 12 class of 2020 who remarkably put in focused effort to beat our past achievement in both IGCSE AND WASCE examination. The Year 6 class of 2020 were equally wonderful as they excelled in all the competitions embarked upon this academic session despite Covid-19.
